India’s most favorite show Asur is all set to return with a new season on JioHotstar. The first two seasons were well-received by the audience and fans have been frequently questioning on the renewal of Season 3.
Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti have been finalized to reprise their roles. Apart from this, Season 3 will be written by Gaurav Shukla, who also wrote the first two seasons. With the upcoming season being greenlit by JioHotstar, the makers have already started their preparations.

Season 3 is supposed to enter production by the end of 2025 and it is expected to premiere towards the later half of next year. Although the casting of any new face is not confirmed yet, another change is confirmed to take place for now.
As per the latest update, the director of the initial two entries, Oni Sen, might not return for Season 3. Oni is currently busy with another project for Netflix. It is said to be a war drama due to which Oni won’t be able to adjust anything. The makers have already begun looking for a new director.

Asur is not an intense show with a lot of violence and profanity like we saw in Mirzapur and The Family Man. Asur has instead focused on the psychological conditions of a human being and blended the same with Indian mythology.
Considering that Gaurav Shukla is returning to write the new season, it is possible that similar themes would be explored this time too. However, the main premise and the suspense hidden beneath it will be something interesting to look out for.
