Telugu OTT users have taken it to social media to complain about the language bias in the major OTT platforms.
People are asking that the South Indian users have to pay the same amount of money to the platforms, but there are very less stories in their languages. Meanwhile, there are so many originals in Hindi.
In the case of Hollywood movies, they are mostly dubbed in Hindi and not always do we get a Telugu dub of the movies. Warner Bros. released trailers in multiple languages but in theaters it is mostly released only in Hindi and English.
Now that platforms are increasing their subscription prices, and recently Prime Video too has started to charge more to stream ad-free, people want equality in streaming.
They want as many Tamil and Telugu originals from these platforms as there are Hindi ones, and the demand is a very justified one. There should be more dubs of Hollywood and foreign movies and even Hindi movies should be added with more regional audios
Paying more and more money without equal representation of their language is very polarising and the platforms should think differently now.
