ETV Win is a relatively new OTT platform in the regional space, not just in Telugu, but across India. Following the pandemic, the rise of new regional platforms slowed down.
While there was initially a boom for homegrown regional platforms, post-COVID, it has mainly been the national and international players like Netflix, Amazon, Disney Plus Hotstar, and SonyLIV dominating the Indian OTT space.

Right from the start, ETV Win made a strong impression with its carefully selected films and TV series. Although the platform’s content is limited, its focus on quality is evident. Periodically, we see a decent film or show coming out on ETV Win, and this is where they are excelling in the Telugu OTT space.
Recently, when ETV Win began streaming Kiran Abbavaram’s latest release ‘KA’, they took extra steps to combat piracy.

For several hours after the release, KA was not available on piracy websites like Torrents or Telegram. Typically, when a film or show begins streaming, an HD rip surfaces on piracy sites almost immediately.
However, ETV Win managed to block piracy for a while, making it difficult for the film to be illegally shared. While the pirates eventually uploaded the HD rip, ETV Win succeeded in holding them off for at least a few hours, a feat that even major players like Netflix and Amazon Prime have struggled to achieve in India.
ETV Win’s efforts have impressed many, and when we spoke to their staff, they mentioned that this is just the beginning. With a passionate team of 25 young people under the age of 30, they are hopeful about making further progress in combating piracy.
While completely stopping piracy might not be possible, it’s worth appreciating their dedication and the steps they’ve taken to protect their content.
