It is not uncommon for Telugu films to rule the roost in the OTT space as RRR and Pushpa shook the pan-Indian and even foreign audiences not too long ago. Now again, Telugu films are back at it.
According to Ormax Media tracking, Animal, Salaar and Guntur Kaaram are the three buzzing films on OTT all across India.
Sandeep Vanga and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal is expectedly in the number one position followed by Salaar and Guntur Kaaram in subsequent positions, according to the Ormax ratings. Incidentally, all three of these films are streaming on Netflix now.
Sandeep’s aggressive narration and unapologetically provocative style of presentation have kept Animal on top of the trending charts. Salaar, with its action part, has catered to mass cinema lovers. The Hindi version is streaming on Diseny+ Hotstar and it added another stream of viewers to the Prabhas starrer. Guntur Kaaram’s reception is mostly from the Telugu folk but the OTT reception is better when compared to the theatrical one.
No wonder why Netflix is investing so heavily in the Telugu market as no film industry, not even Hindi cinema is able to create such buzz on OTT like certain Telugu films are doing.
