Parineeti Chopra is returning to Netflix with her upcoming film Reporting Live, whose trailer has now been unveiled. The investigative thriller explores illegal sand mining, powerful criminal networks and the dangers faced by journalists while pursuing stories that influential people want buried.
Directed by Dhruv Tripathi, Reporting Live will premiere on Netflix on October 9. The film follows ambitious journalist Sandhya, played by Parineeti, and her cameraman Vinod, portrayed by Deven Bhojani, as they begin investigating a disturbing case.
What starts as a promising story soon pulls Sandhya and Vinod into the dangerous world of illegal sand mining. As they dig deeper, the duo comes up against a ruthless network determined to keep its operations and the crimes surrounding them hidden.
The trailer offers glimpses of tense confrontations, dangerous pursuits and growing threats. Parineeti appears in a determined avatar as the journalist. The film also features Amol Palekar, Shekhar Suman, Adil Hussain, Nassar, Saswata Chatterjee, Pitobash Tripathy and Sameer Kochhar.
However, Reporting Live arrives soon after Parineeti’s Netflix series Shaque: Trust No One. The psychological thriller received mixed reactions from viewers, with criticism emerging around certain aspects of the series and its execution after its September release.
That response has naturally put more attention on Parineeti’s next Netflix outing. Reporting Live offers her a different setting and character, moving from the emotional mystery of Shaque: Trust No One to the gritty world of investigative journalism and organised crime.
Parineeti has delivered acclaimed performances in several projects during her career. Reporting Live now gives her another opportunity to impress streaming audiences. Whether the investigative thriller can generate a stronger response than Shaque: Trust No One will become clear after its October 9 premiere.
