Prime Video has unveiled the official trailer for its upcoming supernatural horror series Andhera, raising a major question among viewers — will it replicate the success of the platform’s earlier hit Khauf?
Set in the glamorous yet deceptive city of Mumbai, the trailer unveils a sinister reality lurking beneath the surface. It opens with the mysterious disappearance of a young woman, drawing Inspector Kalpana Kadam (Priya Bapat) and disillusioned medical student Jay (Karanvir Malhotra) into a web of eerie secrets.
As their investigation deepens, an ominous presence begins to surface, blurring the line between reality and nightmare. Kalpana and Jay must face inexplicable horrors and a growing darkness that threatens to consume everything in its path.
With this backdrop, Andhera seems poised to follow in the footsteps of Khauf, a horror series that won critical acclaim and a strong following on the OTT platform. However, the big question is whether audiences will embrace Andhera with the same enthusiasm or consider it a repetitive attempt so soon after Khauf.
The series boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring Priya Bapat, Karanvir Malhotra, Prajakta Koli, Surveen Chawla, Vatsal Sheth, Parvin Dabas, and Pranay Pachauri. While the trailer has received a decent response, some fans wonder if releasing another horror series so soon after Khauf could affect its appeal.
With Andhera set to premiere on Prime Video on 14 August, it remains to be seen whether viewers will crown it the next big horror hit or let it fade into the shadows.
