Sharwanand’s Manamey is finally set for its long-awaited OTT release, nearly eight months after its theatrical debut in June 2024. The film, a romantic comedy-drama directed by Sriram Adittya, struggled to strike an OTT deal.
Manamey follows a predictable storyline where Sharwanand and Krithi Shetty care for their late friends’ child and eventually fall in love.
The first half is breezy with sharp humor and stylish visuals, but the second half falters with weak emotions, silly writing, and tedious sequences. Despite Sharwa’s efforts, the film struggles to balance fun and depth.
The film received mixed reviews from the theatrical audience and was an average fare which collected around 10 crores at the box office, as per trade experts.
Telugu cinema lovers who couldn’t watch this film in theaters had been waiting for its OTT update, as most Telugu films typically land on streaming platforms within 3-4 weeks of their theatrical run.
Now, Amazon Prime Video has officially acquired the streaming rights, and the film is expected to premiere within the next couple of weeks.
Manamey marks the first collaboration between Sharwanand and Krithi Shetty. Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under People Media Factory, the movie features music by Hesham Abdul Wahab.
An official release date is expected soon.
