SonyLiv is once again under fire for its poor streaming service and excessive advertisements. After facing criticism during the Asia Cup for constant buffering and quality issues, users say the platform hasn’t improved much.
Social media has been flooded with complaints about frequent ads and poor performance. Many users claim that the platform prioritises ads over actual content, making even premium viewing frustrating.
Subscribers report being shown up to five unskippable ads during a single episode even after paying for a premium plan. One angry viewer wrote, “Do I pay to watch the content or five ads every five minutes?”
Another user called SonyLiv “the most pathetic OTT app,” complaining about ad interruptions every one or two minutes. Many cited similar experiences while watching Kaun Banega Crorepati, saying ads pop up even after skipping short portions of content.
Frustrated users have accused SonyLiv of ignoring feedback and failing to deliver a smooth viewing experience. Viewers say the repeated interruptions and poor stream quality make paid subscriptions feel pointless.
With backlash growing online, users are demanding that SonyLiv fix its streaming issues and reduce ad frequency. Many say the platform needs to focus on user satisfaction before promoting new shows or partnerships.
@SonyLIV I have subscribed to sony liv but still after that I am bombarded with ads , everytime I forward the video. So many ads for no reason. I haven’t even watched 10 mins of the episode but have watched 30 ass in total. What is this stupidity?

Dear @SonyLIV I have seen 2 minutes of KBC and 4 minutes of Ads. It seems you have decided to take my precious time along with money for subscription! This is totally not cool and shows the App on Life Support through Ads. Paid subscribers don’t deserve this. Please improve!
