Sasi Kumar’s Tourist Family, directed by debutant Abishan Jeevinth, was released in theaters on May 1st and has received an overwhelmingly positive response from both audiences and critics.
According to reports, Tourist Family has collected around 75 crores worldwide and has become the highest-grossing movie of Sasi Kumar’s career.
Now, JioHotstar, which has acquired the OTT streaming rights for Tourist Family, has officially announced that the movie will begin streaming on the platform on June 2nd.
Following the theatrical success of Tourist Family, audiences from other language markets are eagerly waiting to watch the film after its OTT release.
Earlier buzz suggested that the movie would be released on JioHotstar on May 28th, but it appears to have been postponed.
However, according to the latest reports, Tourist Family will be streaming from June 2nd on JioHotstar and the Simply South App in only the Tamil language.
Many trade experts, responding to the OTT release update, have stated that Tourist Family may turn out to be a goldmine of viewership and subscriptions for the JioHotstar OTT platform, as it created a huge wave during its theatrical run.
