‘Padmavati’ has been riddled in controversies ever since the very idea of it was released. The film’s release was postponed from December 1 to 5th January of 2018 because of CBFC’s rejection. However, it seems that the problems are not over for the film and its release has been delayed yet again. Apparently, the highly anticipated film will now hit the screens in March or April in the New Year.

The big budget film is in trouble with the CBFC again for not having a definitive disclaimer. A source from the Censor Board said that the filmmakers “unnecessarily complicated [the] case” by not stating clearly whether the film is a work of fiction or is based on historical facts thereby causing further delay.
However, this Deepika Padukone starrer is not the only film that got postponed. Rajinikanth’s upcoming much awaited action flick ‘2.0’ is also following in its footsteps. The movie, which will also feature popular Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, will hit the screens in April 2018 giving ‘Padmavati’ a tough competition if both releases closely. As for ‘Padmavati’, will this much awaited historical drama lose viewers to ‘2.0’?
