Advait Chandan, the director of Loveyapa, has worked with Aamir Khan Productions (AKP) all his life before serving as Aamir Khan’s manager.

Loveyapa, which was released today, marks his first outing which is not produced by AKP. It is backed by AGS Entertainment and Phantom.
In a recent interview, he opened up about his bond with Aamir Khan.

Advait talked about how initially it felt weird stepping out of AKP. He had gotten used to the working style at AKP, but he had to step out of his comfort zone.
This change also helped him cross roads with Srishti Behl, who’s the producer of this film.

He said that she has been an amazing support system and a partner, and he feels that he is going to have a lifelong connection with her.
Advait also talked about how he goes to Aamir Kahn for input even when he has directed a small ad. His feedback is quite valuable to him.
He also joked about how Munna Bhai hallucinates about Gandhiji, he hallucinates about Aamir sir.
Aamir has taught Advait a lot about editing, the pacing of the scene, sound mixing etc, he said. He can still hear Aamir’s advice in his mind while editing.
“I am his biggest troll”, Advait said. Aamir doesn’t like everyone agreeing with him just because he’s at the top. He wants someone to critically analyze his work which Advait does.
And so, Aamir does appreciate Advait trolling him so that he can improve on his craft.
