A source recently revealed that Akshay Kumar‘s popular slapstick comedy Bhagam Bhag is finally set to go on floors this year. It is now officially confirmed that the film will begin shooting in February.
According to reports, Sarita Ashwin Varde of Roaring River Pictures has acquired the sequel rights from Shemaroo Entertainment. She will be co-producing the film and is also involved in writing the project.
It is confirmed that Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal will return for the sequel. However, it is still unclear whether Govinda will be part of the film this time. The makers have not made any official announcement regarding his involvement yet.
Rumours suggest that Akshaye Khanna has been approached for a key role. If the deal goes through, audiences may see a fresh and exciting pairing in this upcoming madcap comedy.
Both Akshaye Khanna and Akshay Kumar have previously worked with Priyadarshan and are known for their strong comic timing. If they come together, this will be their second collaboration after Tees Maar Khan released in 2010.
Tees Maar Khan has gained cult status over the years. Interestingly, its director Farah Khan recently said on a chat show that she is considering a sequel and is aware of the film’s popularity among Gen Z audiences.
However, Farah Khan did not confirm any timeline for the project. For now, all eyes are on Bhagam Bhag as fans eagerly wait for more official updates from the makers.
