Akshay Kumar’s 2025 was a mixed bag at the box office. While it wasn’t a great year, it still looked better than his recent run. The actor delivered a few decent performances, but none turned into a clear hit.
The year began with Sky Force. Expectations were decent, but the film faced trouble after release. Allegations of corporate bookings and fake collections hurt its reputation. Though the film was good, many felt its 110 crore collection was inflated, with real numbers around 50–60 crores.
Next came Kesari Chapter 2, a film that initially looked promising. Fans expected a strong comeback, but interest in Akshay Kumar seemed to fade. Despite positive reviews, the film managed only about 90 crores at the box office.
Housefull 5 arrived with a massive star cast and high buzz. It collected over 150 crores but received poor reviews and disappointed fans. Many called it one of the weakest films in the franchise.
Akshay Kumar wrapped up the year with Jolly LLB 3, co-starring Arshad Warsi. The courtroom drama had strong pre-release hype but failed to impress audiences. It crossed 100 crores, yet weak writing and dull performances made it an average affair.
Despite not delivering a single blockbuster, Akshay Kumar’s 2025 showed growth in overall collections compared to his previous few years of flops. His consistency kept him in the race, even without major hits.
Looking ahead to 2026, Akshay Kumar will return with Bhoot Bangla, Welcome to the Jungle, and Haiwaan. All three have strong buzz and the potential to mark a fresh start for the actor.
