Akshay Kumar Kesari Chapter 2

Akshay Kumar’s courtroom drama Kesari Chapter 2 has finally got a release date and it will arrive on the big screen on April 18, 2025. The upcoming film is being produced by Dharma Productions.

Audiences don’t need to get confused thinking that it is a sequel to Akshay’s 2019 film Kesari. It is a completely different film with the main plot focusing on the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre and the facts related to the incident that remain unknown to the public.

The main premise will be based on lawyer and freedom fighter Sir Chettur Sankaran Nair and the story will be set in the year 1919. Apart from Akshay, R. Madhavan will play an important role alongside Ananya Panday, and the first look is coming out next month.

Karan Singh Tyagi has helmed Kesari Chapter 2 and the release date is set in the same week marking the 106th anniversary of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. Since Good Friday also falls on April 18, it seems like the film might get an easy run at the box office.

However, the major obstacle here is that Akshay Kumar is repeating the same mistake that has led to the failure of his films for the last two years. Akshay’s Sky Force was released last month and it is still running in theatres.

With less than two months left for release, it is not a wise decision to release Kesari Chapter 2 in April. The producers must rethink if they are willing to earn some profits at the box office and Akshay needs to do the same if he is interested in bouncing back.

Furthermore, Akshay will be a part of another courtroom drama, Jolly LLB 3, which is also releasing this year. It seems like the overdose of Akshay’s films will be repeated this year, adding more flops to his list.

Considering the current condition of Bollywood, it is the right time for the actors and filmmakers to start planning a different strategy in terms of scripts and release dates.
