Alia Bhatt has officially announced her new production venture, a coming of age romantic comedy titled Don’t Be Shy, which will stream on Amazon Prime Video. The film marks another step in her journey as a producer.
The project is produced by Alia and her sister Shaheen Bhatt under Eternal Sunshine Productions. It is co-produced by Grishma Shah and Vikesh Bhutani under their banner Chalkboard Entertainment.
Alia announced the film on 30 January 2026 through a quirky interview-style skit. The video featured her and Shaheen discussing the process of producing a film behind the scenes.
Don’t Be Shy also marks the directorial debut of Sreeti Mukherji. She has earlier worked with Ayaan Mukherji on Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and Brahmastra.
The story revolves around Shyamili ‘Shy’ Das, a 20-year-old who believes her life is perfectly planned. Her world turns upside down after an unexpected twist changes everything.
In the promotional video, Alia said the film is very close to her heart. She promised a blend of romance, friendship and emotional moments that young audiences can connect with.
The film’s principal photography has already been completed. However, the makers have not yet announced the official release date.
The film will feature a cast of fresh faces in lead roles. It is being positioned as a Prime Video original aimed at young viewers.
Alia expressed strong excitement about the project and called it a sincere story. She said it has been made with passion by Sreeti Mukeji for the new generation.
