Actress Ameesha Patel recently bashed other actresses for using aggressive PR to look like top stars. She wrote on her social media handle that many of the so-called top heroines haven’t even given a solo hit in their careers but their PR project themselves as big actresses. She mentioned her own big hits like Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai and Gadar movies as examples and told that she never used a PR team to promote herself despite having such huge successes.
Ameesha also admitted that her own PR machinery is weak and she believes this is why her competitors moved ahead while she lagged behind. However, many people on social media feel she is just frustrated about not getting much work. Many pointed out that the films she mentioned were actually hero-centric projects and fans of stars like Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone argued that if current heroines don’t get credit for their hits then Ameesha shouldn’t take the credit for her past movies either.
Industry experts also shared their views and majority of them think that audiences mostly come to see male actors so actresses use overactive PR just to stay relevant. They also explained that Ameesha cannot take solo credit for the success of Gadar and Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai because they were hero dominated movies and she contributed very little to the success of those films.
