A.R. Murugadoss has had a good history with Bollywood as he delivered two big blockbusters, Ghajini and Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty. While there has been a demand for a sequel to both films, Murugadoss has finally opened up about the same in an interview.
Speaking about Ghajini 2, the director said that there are a few ideas but they are yet to be developed properly so that a script can be prepared. However, he hinted that the lead actor might be different this time since he said that the hero is yet to be discussed.

He further stated that he wants to make Holiday 2 or Thupakki 2 with Akshay Kumar in the future and he has some ideas for the same. Notably, Holiday was a remake of Thalapathy Vijay’s Thupakki, which was also directed by Murugadoss.
Apart from these, Murugadoss said that his upcoming film with Sivakarthikeyan, Madharasi, will be wrapped up in the upcoming month and this will be followed by an animated film, which is in the early stages of discussion.

Bollywood is focusing on sequels nowadays since there has been a shortage of good writers who can bring unique subjects. However, sequels still have a market only if the makers have a good storyline.
If Ghajini 2 and Holiday 2 are finalized over the upcoming years, the content has to be stronger and better than the first two films.

Audiences enter the theatres with the expectation of being entertained and the sequels have to be prepared in such a way that it can attract people of all age groups.
Although Murugadoss has expressed his desire to work in the sequels, it will still take a long time to happen. Let’s see when we will get another update.
