Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and JanaSena Party president Pawan Kalyan said the ruling TDP-Jana Sena-BJP alliance had once again earned public support in the municipal elections, irrespective of whether voting was conducted through EVMs or ballot papers.
Reacting to the municipal election results on Tuesday, November 3, Pawan Kalyan said the victories and leads secured by alliance candidates reflected the confidence of urban voters in the government’s performance.
He argued that the results demonstrated public approval of the development, welfare and infrastructure initiatives being implemented under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership.
Taking a dig at the opposition YSRCP, Pawan Kalyan recalled how the party had blamed Electronic Voting Machines after losing the 2024 general elections. He pointed out that the latest municipal elections were conducted using ballot papers, yet the ruling alliance had emerged ahead in several urban bodies.
According to Pawan Kalyan, the electorate had delivered a similar political message under both voting systems. His remarks were a direct response to the opposition’s earlier criticism of EVMs.
The Deputy Chief Minister also welcomed the support received by Jana Sena in municipal corporations, municipalities and nagar panchayats. He said the party would work to retain the confidence placed in its candidates.
Pawan Kalyan thanked voters who supported the three alliance partners and congratulated the winning candidates, party leaders and workers who contributed to the election campaign.
He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s support and Chandrababu Naidu’s administrative experience for the alliance’s development agenda. He expressed confidence that the coalition would continue working to improve infrastructure and public services across Andhra Pradesh.
Looking ahead, Pawan Kalyan said the alliance was confident of repeating its municipal election performance in the upcoming MPTC and ZPTC elections.
The ruling alliance recorded widespread victories and leads across urban local bodies as counting progressed on Tuesday. However, the final statewide tally remained subject to official declarations.
Pawan Kalyan’s remarks added a political dimension to the results, with the ruling alliance presenting its performance as an endorsement of its governance and a response to the YSRCP’s criticism of electronic voting.
