Anurag Kashyap recently appeared for a press event of the Hindi version of the acclaimed Malayalam film Footage. He could be seen praising the project and talking candidly about the culture of Bollywood.

He has also backed the Malayalam version of Footage and was all praise of the Malayalam industry. He feels that there’s a lot Bollywood can learn from them.

One of the most important thing is that they appreciate each other and don’t want to eliminate their contemporaries. If a film does well they celebrate together without being jealous of the other’s success.

Often Malayalam actors like Fahadh Faasil have chosen to stay behind the screens as producers and give opportunity to young talents. Bollywood stars have more of a rage to be seen on the screen even if the film at large suffers from this move.

He talked about the ultra-rich lobby of Bollywood that tries to control filmmakers. This happened with him during Bombay Velvet when he was forced to cut short the runtime of his film.

As a result Bombay Velvet became one of the biggest flops of Bollywood. It incurred a loss of around 100 crores for its makers.
