Border 2 Collections Fake? After Prabhas, Now Sunny Deol

Sunny Deol in Border 2 box office debate

Border 2 released last week amid strong expectations and wide attention. Reviews remained mixed, though many viewers praised its patriotic appeal. Soon after release, the film’s reported box office numbers became the centre of a heated social media debate.

Recent reports claim Border 2 has collected nearly Rs. 195 crores within five days of release. The figure appears impressive given the short run so far. Unlike several recent releases, the film avoided discounted ticket pricing on Tuesday.

Despite this strategy, Border 2 reportedly saw a sharp drop of around 45 percent in collections. As Wednesday is a working day, estimates suggest earnings of Rs. 11–12 crores, possibly reaching Rs. 16–17 crores by day end.

According to a report by Box Office India, Monday collections dropped by nearly 30 percent. The report added that some circuits helped stabilise numbers. Rajasthan and Mumbai showed relatively better holds on Tuesday.

The report stated that the film collected Rs. 56 crores on Monday, while Tuesday numbers reportedly stood at Rs. 20 crores. These figures intensified online scrutiny around the film’s overall box office performance.

Social media users reacted strongly, claiming Sunny Deol had been exposed through allegedly inflated collection figures. Netizens compared the situation to Prabhas, recalling similar claims made earlier around The Raja Saab.

Some users believe Border 2 may struggle in the coming days as the holiday window has ended. Republic Day reportedly provided limited support to collections. Others pointed to Mardaani 3, which is expected to draw positive audience attention.

Sunny Deol’s fans, however, have dismissed all claims of fake collections. Many viewers continue to support the actor’s screen presence. Drawing audiences at the age of 68 is still viewed as a significant achievement.
