
While Bollywood has not witnessed a lot of success this year and there has been a lack of blockbusters, it seems like 2026 will bring back the time of 2023 where the film industry managed to deliver multiple hits throughout the year.
The lineup of films looks exciting, and six of them might turn out to be highly successful, with big numbers at the box office.

The first is Border 2 in January 2026, which is a sequel to J.P. Dutta’s cult classic. Sunny Deol will be returning to portray the lead alongside many new faces. With a new man in the director’s chair, it will be interesting to see if Border 2 turns out to be better than the first film.
Then there is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War. Scheduled for release in March 2026, the makers have not disclosed a lot of details about the main premise.

However, Sanjay has finalized a talented star cast who would contribute to the film’s success, including Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, and Alia Bhatt. Let’s wait for the promotional material to see if Love & War would make a big impact.
Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya 2 will be releasing in August. Although the first one was not a big hit, the franchise value of Maddock Horror Comedy Universe is expected to attract people. However, an impressive trailer is necessary for the same alongside superhit music, alongside horror and comedy elements.

The fourth in the list is Shah Rukh Khan’s King on October 2026, which is creating headlines before its release. It will reportedly feature Abhishek Bachchan as the antagonist. With Siddharth Anand as the director, King has the potential to become a blockbuster if the content entertains everyone.
Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is also being made on a grand scale, and the latest updates are slowly creating more excitement among the audience. It will be released in two parts, with the first arriving in November 2026, and features Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi as Ram and Sita, alongside Yash playing Raavan.
The last is Mahavatar, releasing in December 2026. The first look featuring Vicky Kaushal came out last year, and further updates are awaited about the cast members and other details to speculate something about its fate at the box office.
Although the above-mentioned films have the potential to bring Bollywood back to its old days, the makers have to ensure that they fulfil the expectations of the audience. Let’s wait and see if we would get to witness any promotional materials in the upcoming months.
