Kartik Aaryan and Varun Dhawan would be clashing in March next year with their respective films, Naagzilla and Bhediya 2. While the former is a new entry, the latter is a part of a successful franchise that has managed to accumulate huge profits at the box office.

Both films are releasing on August 14, 2026. Although there has been no teaser or announcement poster for Bhediya 2, Kartik shared a video through his social media handle about Naagzilla, where a glimpse of his character appeared on screen.
On the other hand, Amar Kaushik would return as the director of Bhediya 2, and the original cast members of the first film are expected to reprise their roles. It will be a follow-up to Thama and Shakti Shalini, releasing this year.

All three films are produced by Dinesh Vijan and are among the eight films announced last year as the upcoming entries of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. Five more films, including the sequels to Stree 2 and Munjya, are supposed to arrive by 2028.
Notably, Naagzilla and Bhediya 2 belong to completely different genres, and considering that supernatural elements are supposed to be an important part of both films, there is a possibility that the audience might turn up in large numbers.

Although Varun is yet to establish himself as a big star, the popularity of the horror-comedy universe can lead to the success of Bhediya 2, provided that the budget remains in control and the makers can add genuine comedy sequences like the earlier installments.
While a lot of details about Naagzilla remain unknown for now, the film’s fate would depend on the promotional material and other elements, including the soundtrack.
Moreover, both films are releasing a day before Independence Day, like what happened at the time of Stree 2. But the big question is whether the holiday will give a boost to the box office collection.
