2025 is not going so good for Bollywood as per expectations. The entire film industry struggled to deliver a hit in the first four months. Except Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, none of the films managed to leave a mark at the box office.
The situation is worse than 2024, where Bollywood gave five successful films, including Fighter, Article 370, Shaitaan, Crew, and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.

Coming back to this year, Chhaava is the only film that broke records, including that it is one of the highest-grossing film of this year. While people expected Salman Khan’s Sikandar to achieve similar success, the film’s weak script and storyline contributed to its failure, leaving a lot of people in shock.
Even good films like Jaat, Kesari Chapter 2 and Sky Force failed to deliver big numbers at the box office. Now everything depends on May, followed by the upcoming months until December.

There is Raid 2 on May 1, which is a sequel to the 2018 film Raid. The trailer has already received a positive response, and with Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh confronting each other on screen, it remains to be seen if big crowds would turn up in theatres.
Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, now known for Munjya and Stree 2, has a big release this year, titled Thama, which will be based on vampires.

Yash Raj Films are also not stepping back, with War 2 and Alpha, which are expected to feature some amazing action sequences. Apart from that, Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5 is also arriving this year.
Even if Raid 2 manages to become successful, it does not mean that the good days will come back and we would get to see frequent hits. The promotional material of every film and the overall content has to be strong enough to attract audiences. Let’s wait and see if things go as per expectations.
