Box Office Experts on Sikandar

As Eid falls on Monday, March 31, experts state that the film would be more beneficial if it were released on Sunday, March 30 rather than a traditional Friday release.

Analyst Atul Mohan stated how Sunday would open to immaculate numbers which will rise on Monday as people will break their fast and come to witness Salman Khan on the big screen.

Additionally, Gudi Padwa and Baasi Eid will be celebrated on Tuesday adding more to the overall collection of the film.

Renowned trade analyst Taran Adarsh also agreed on the same point stating that if the film releases on Friday and fails to capture a huge market, it will lead to negativity leading to Eid.

However, distributor Raj Bansal disagreed with the fact stating that it would be a waste of the weekend if such a huge film is released on Sunday as Salman attracts the masses to cinemas and not particularly any religion or caste.

Film exhibitor Akshaye Rathi also supported this reasoning by stating the cases of Ek Tha Tiger and Wanted which were released before Eid but went on to become top grossers.

All in all, the collections would affect the film as Sikandar might open to 40-50 crores if released on Sunday whereas these numbers might drop to 20 if it releases on Friday.

However, the positive word of mouth heavily depends on the film’s overall performance and collection. It remains to be seen when the makers will schedule its release and make benefit out of it.
