It seems like the wait for Brahmastra 2 will be a little bit long. As per a report shared by Rahul Raut of Peeping Moon, director Ayan Mukerji has been finalized to take the chair for Dhoom 4, which will also feature Ranbir Kapoor in the lead.
This is one of the reasons that Ayan has decided to put Brahmastra 2 on hold for now. Apart from this, the sequel is also facing some financial issues, considering that Dharma Productions is not ready to offer the required budget to make the film.
The latest report claimed that Ayan was not prepared to take on two big films altogether. However, he could not refuse Aditya Chopra and Ranbir, and now, he will start working on Dhoom 4 after War 2 releases in theatres on August 14.
Dhoom 4 will go on floors from April next year and is aiming to arrive on the big screen by 2027. The film will be completely new, with new characters and a fresh take on the main storyline.
On the other hand, Brahmastra 2 will enter production in 2027, and Ayan is reportedly planning to shoot Brahmastra 3 altogether to avoid any delays in release.
The latest report has created headlines as it could be some kind of damage control since the teaser of War 2 has been criticized by a section of the audience for poor VFX. The teaser was missing a lot of elements, even if the scale was similar to the first film.
Apart from this, audiences consider that Ayan Mukerji is perfect for directing romantic coming-of-age films. War 2 is his first action film, and his acceptance as an action director will entirely depend on how he has made the film and presented the superstars.
Moreover, Ayan has also taken a big risk as he might not get to direct Dhoom 4 if War 2 does not do well at the box office. Dhoom 4 is a film that has been in demand for many years, and Ayan has a big opportunity in his hands.
So, let’s see if War 2 will become a big hit and establish Ayan as a perfect director for action films.
