Dhamaal 4 is finally arriving after a long wait of seven years. Expectations are sky-high, considering that none of the entries in the franchise have emerged as a failure so far. But the current situation in terms of advance booking is not up to the mark.
While there has been a little occupancy at a few markets, it is even lower than Welcome to the Jungle in some other places. Notably, this has been a surprising update for a franchise that has become a cult classic over the last few years.
A few reports said that the situation is underwhelming at the national multiplex chains, which include PVR Inox and Cinepolis. However, Dhamaal 4 advance bookings have been undoubtedly better in the other chains across India. But the fate of the film will depend on the first-day numbers at the box office.
Advance screenings for critics have already been organized. The reviews are decent. But online users have claimed that they are looking like paid reactions.
Even though Dhamaal 4 won’t depend on the multiplexes for a good number, the movie needs to pull the masses at the single screens. Unfortunately, the low buzz for the film is being mentioned as one of the reasons why audiences are not showing any interest.
A few trade experts even blamed the crowded release schedule over the last few weeks, due to which people are unable to focus on one particular film and quickly jump onto another. Some others have claimed that the arrival of two comedy films back-to-back is expected to create fatigue among the audience.
Dhamaal 4 still has an advantage to survive for multiple weeks, as there are no big films until the end of the month, when Spider-Man: Brand New Day will arrive in theatres. Let’s wait and see if positive word-of-mouth will help Dhamaal 4 survive for a long time as expected.
