The rumours of Ranbir Kapoor doing Dhoom 4 were creating headlines once on social media. But the result has turned out to be different, as the actor has now opted out of the film.
An insider stated that Ranbir was not convinced by the script, leading to the latest decision. The source said that Ranbir is now meeting writers and directors, aiming to explore various other subjects.
Apart from this, the insider stated that the film was supposed to be directed by Ayan Mukerji. However, Aditya Chopra decided to hand over the project to someone else after War 2. Notably, Ranbir was a part of the film till then, and it just needed some clarity from Aditya.
On the other hand, the trade sources had something else to say about Dhoom 4. They claimed that the script is still being prepared and no one has been cast yet. Ranbir also did not mention Dhoom 4 when he was questioned about his upcoming lineup at Comic-Con. He mentioned only Ramayana and Love and War at that time.
While Ranbir’s fans are upset by his decision, the supporters of other actors are now satisfied. They are hopeful that their favourite star is going to do the film.
The appearance of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan has been widely discussed over the last few years in relation to Dhoom 4. Fans of the superstars stated that YRF now has a golden opportunity for a proper comeback, where they can prefer to cast either one as the lead or bring both of them as leads in one film with a strong and engaging script.
Netizens have even suggested the names of Akshay Kumar and Vicky Kaushal. Some stated that Hrithik can be brought back in some manner and the story of Mr. A can be continued. However, nothing has been finalized by YRF yet.
The ongoing situation has clearly hinted that Dhoom 4 might take a few more years to go on the floors. But it remains to be seen whether it will surpass the numbers made by YRF Spy Universe so far.
