Aamir, Prabhas, SSR Needed Pan-India: Dhurandhar Didn’t

Dhurandhar 1000 crore box office poster

Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar is roaring past the 1000 crore mark at the global box office. The film has ticked all the right boxes. It is nearing one month in theatres and user excitement is still strong. The engagement is not slowing down.

Akshaye Khanna’s persona and Ranveer Singh’s energy worked in favour of the film. Dhurandhar has now joined the historic 1000 crore club. This puts it alongside eight prestigious Indian films that achieved this milestone earlier. The achievement feels even more special.

Dhurandhar has created a rare record. Almost every Indian film that crossed 1000 crore was released in South Indian languages. That made them Pan-India releases. Dhurandhar reached this mark without a regional language release.

The team originally planned a Telugu release. Now the makers are preparing a Pan-India release for Dhurandhar 2. It will arrive in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam along with the Hindi version. Expectations are already high.

The other films in the 1000 crore club include Dangal, Baahubali 2, Pushpa 2, RRR, KGF: Chapter 2, Jawan, Pathaan, and Kalki 2898 AD. All these films were released in several South Indian languages with their originals. Dhurandhar stands apart from the pack.

As the buzz continues into the new year, fans are eager for the second part. Dhurandhar Part 2 is expected in March. If the trend continues, it might also set new records in box office collections and audience engagement.
