A news which set the hearts of all the cinephiles racing, is none other than the collaboration of Ali Abbas Zafar and Diljit Dosanjh.
Yes you have read it correctly! the blockbuster Bollywood director Ali Abbas Zafar who was behind the lenses of hits like “Sultan”, “Tiger Zinda Hai” is now teaming up with Diljit Dosanjh who is already an established singer and an OTT sensation, in movies like “Udta Punjab”, “Good Newwz” and the recent hit with “Amar Singh Chamkila” directed by Imtiaz Ali. Diljit Dosanjh is no doubt a fans favorite now.
So we can say the Sultan of the big screen blockbuster is teaming up with the Punjab’s rockstar.
“Detective Sherdil”, which is a comedy, thriller, action movie is set to release on ZEE5 starting 20th June 2025, with the debutant director Ravi Chhabriya, under AAZ banner.
Furthermore, Ali Abbas Zafar’s last few movies like “Bharat” which didn’t accumulate much of a good response and following that up “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” which was a complete disaster, basically removed Ali Abbas Zafar from the limelight.
So, is collaborating with Diljit a strategy he took to get back into the limelight? Because, we can’t judge a director based on one movie which didn’t work in his favor.
Moreover the cast of “Detective Sherdil” includes fantastic actors like Diana Penty, Boman Irani, Chunky Panday, Ratna Pathak Shah, Banita Sandhu and Sumeet Vyas and many more.
Now it’s time to see whether collaborating with Diljit in “Detective Sherdil” brings back the old pride of Ali Abbas Zafar or not.
