Drishyam 3 is one of the most awaited Hindi films, thanks to the blockbuster success of Drishyam 2. However, the Ajay Devgn starrer now finds itself facing a challenging release window with several films arriving soon after its theatrical debut.
The film is scheduled to release on October 2. Just a week later, Prem Keetanu is set to arrive on October 9, followed by Udta Teer on October 16. This leaves very little gap between the major releases.
The crowded release calendar continues with Prahaar, which is slated to hit theatres on October 23. Reports also suggest that another film could be announced for the same period, making the competition even tougher at the box office.
The back-to-back releases have sparked discussions among trade analysts and cinema lovers. Many believe Drishyam 3 deserved a longer and less crowded theatrical window, considering the franchise’s strong popularity.
Drishyam 2 enjoyed a blockbuster run and emerged as one of the biggest successes in the franchise. Naturally, expectations are high for the third instalment, with fans hoping it delivers another memorable theatrical experience.
The situation has also raised questions about release planning in the Hindi film industry. Interestingly, major Hollywood films such as The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day have secured comparatively better release windows.
