Protests Against Farhan Akhtar: Yadav Community Angry

Farhan Akhtar 120 Bahadur protest news

Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film 120 Bahadur is facing backlash ahead of its release. The movie depicts the courage of soldiers from the Kumaon Regiment who fought bravely in the 1962 Indo-China war.

Members of the Yadav community in Gurugram have objected to the film’s title and portrayal. On Monday, several people from the Ahir Morcha organised a protest march, demanding changes to the movie’s name and representation.

The protesters insisted that the film be renamed 120 Vir Ahir to highlight the contribution of the Yadav community within the Kumaon Regiment. The march extended from Haryana to Delhi, leading to heavy traffic disruptions for daily commuters.

Social media users reacted sharply, criticising the protest and calling it unnecessary. Many pointed out that the film already honours all soldiers equally, without discriminating based on caste or community. They said the outrage focuses only on the name, not the message.

It remains to be seen whether the government or the Film Certification Board will respond to this controversy. Fans now worry that the backlash from the Ahir community could delay the release of 120 Bahadur, which has already drawn strong attention online.
