SRK Salman Gen Z box office comparison

Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan’s dialogue in Pathaan’s post credits scene is gaining attention again after three years. This comes after strong box office performances by Vicky Kaushal and Ranveer Singh, which have surprised trade analysts and fans.

The discussion has grown as younger actors continue to challenge established superstars. The trend became more visible when Ahaan Panday delivered a blockbuster like Saiyaara. This shift highlights the rising influence of Gen Z stars in the industry.

In 2023, Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback created major buzz, while Ranbir Kapoor impressed audiences with Animal. Around the same time, Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 and Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki released but did not create the expected impact.

Other films also contributed to this shift in box office trends. Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 reportedly collected around Rs. 600 crores. Lakshya’s Kill gained popularity among younger audiences for its intense action sequences and fresh appeal.

The current scenario shows a clear change in audience preferences. In Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan suggested that the industry cannot be left to younger actors. However, these actors have reportedly generated Rs. 3,779 crores in India alone.

In comparison, the combined box office numbers of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan stand at around Rs. 1,898 crores. This is notable despite Shah Rukh Khan delivering two films that crossed Rs. 1,000 crores. Salman Khan is yet to reach that milestone.

A major factor in this shift is Dhurandhar, featuring Ranveer Singh. The films released within a short gap and reportedly earned over Rs. 900 crores each in India. This trend has increased pressure on established superstars.

The industry now appears to be entering a new phase. Younger actors are gaining strong momentum at the box office. It remains to be seen whether Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan will reclaim dominance in the coming months.
