Good for Nothing Song

Sitaare Zameen Par’s new single, Good for Nothing, is out now on YouTube. The song was released on May 22, 2025, and it features the voice of Shankar Mahadevan, with music composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

It is a light-hearted song, and it features visuals of Aamir Khan training the special children for basketball. There is a possibility that the song might appear at a time when Aamir seemingly becomes determined to train the children and bring the best out of them.

The song’s melody and composition undoubtedly remind us of the time when Shankar Mahadevan gave his voice to the title track of Taare Zameen Par. The new single might be something good to listen to in theatres.

On the other hand, the single is also not fit for today’s world, considering that songs that are perfect for reels manage to become chartbusters.

People are expected to play Good for Nothing to possibly change their mood, but there is no chance that they would rewind and listen to the track for another time.

The song has been made keeping in mind the genre of the film. Moreover, it is supposed to be an important part of taking the storyline forward without making the audience bored with random sequences.

It also looks like Aamir Khan and director R.S. Prasanna are not willing to distract the general public from the main theme, and based on that, Good for Nothing cannot be called a bad choice for the film’s main soundtrack.

Let’s wait and see if the audience will enjoy the single on the big screen on June 20, 2025.
