Most Viral Murder Case: Will Bollywood Do Justice?

Honeymoon in Shillong

A new Bollywood film titled Honeymoon in Shillong is now underway, based on the chilling murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi. The movie is directed by SP Nimbawat (known for Kabaddi and Laut Aao Papa) and has received script approval from Raja’s family. The film is expected to closely follow both the crime and the emotional fallout surrounding the case.

Raja’s body was discovered on June 2 near Wei Sawdong Falls in Sohra, Meghalaya, just days into his honeymoon. Police confirm he suffered fatal head injuries during what investigators say was the fourth attempt on his life. His newlywed wife Sonam Raghuvanshi, her lover Raj Kushwaha, and three accomplices are accused in the plot.

Vipin Raghuvanshi, Raja’s brother, has unveiled the film’s poster in Indore and emphasized the need for truth in portraying Meghalaya and the case. Though he approved the project, he noted that only around 50% of the script reflects actual events, with creative license used for dramatic effect.

The narrative reportedly charts Raja’s life from childhood through his wedding to the ultimate betrayal that led to his murder. The accused remain in judicial custody as the trial continues.

With principal filming planned in Indore and the family closely involved, the project aims not only to tell a true-crime story but also to push for public awareness and justice. The emotional depth and real events behind Honeymoon in Shillong make it one of the most anticipated crime dramas in recent Indian cinema.
