Two Franchises. One Writer. Endless Cringe?

Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5 was terrible to some, to others, it was a full-blown cinematic nightmare.

The film felt like a two-hour-long brain-rott video, packed with a star cast and disgustingly written sexual jokes, courtesy of Farhad Samji.

While fans are still talking about how disastrous Housefull 5 was, they can’t help but shift their focus to Akshay and Farhad’s next collaboration, set to release later this year.

Welcome to the Jungle, starring Akshay along with a massive ensemble cast, is also written by Farhad Samji. Naturally, fans are now questioning whether this upcoming film is headed toward the same fate.

Scheduled for a release around Christmas, the film also features Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Aftab Shivdasani, Jackie Shroff, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Disha Patani.

Ever since Housefull 5 was released, fans have been drawing parallels between the two films—both packed with star power and both penned by Farhad Samji.

Fans fear this duo might be setting us up for yet another trainwreck. While Welcome to the Jungle might not be as filled with sexual jokes, many expect the humour to be outdated, like a boomer cracking Gen-Z jokes, talking in meme slang, and adding nothing fresh or clever to the script.

Some even say that the Akshay-Farhad duo has already ruined one franchise, Housefull 5, and now they’re ready to destroy another with Welcome to the Jungle.

Will the duo redeem themselves? Or are we in for another rocky, disappointing ride? Only time will tell.
