Housefull 5 has been in the news since its inception. After a grand trailer launch, it was also revealed that the comedy drama will have not one but two different versions: Housefull 5 and Housefull 5A.
Since it’s also a murder mystery, it is said that each version will have a different killer in the climax. Two endings, two killers, and a single franchise creating what it calls “cinematic history.”
Now, the strong marketing angle is that people have two watch both versions of the film to get the full experience.
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala had also claimed during the trailer launch that Housefull 5 is the first film in world cinema to release in theatres with multiple endings.
However, it seems like this is not entirely true and we have proof!
Yes, cinema buffs were quick to point out that Aankhen (2002), starring Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar, did it first. The film, which was also a surprise hit, had different endings for Indian and international audiences.
This idea was already pulled off 23 years ago. It would’ve been better if Sajid Nadiadwala had done a quick fact-check before calling Housefull 5 a first in Hindi cinema.
Meanwhile, curious ones are also talking about the huge ensemble of the comedy drama. With so many people on board, will every person get a good screen space in the film? That remains a question.
Housefull franchise has a reputation of breaking box office records every time when a new installment arrives on the big screen.
Housefull 4 was a big hit, collecting more than Rs. 200 crores. With a higher budget and high expectations, it remains to be seen if Housefull 5 can create new records.
2025 is falling short of big blockbusters except Chhaava. Let’s wait and see if Housefull 5 will touch the mark of Rs. 500 crores or it will do better than that.
