Akshay Fans Panic: Zero Promotions, Hype Going Down

Film releases nowadays are incomplete without controversies and lawsuits, especially those with Akshay Kumar, leaving his fans in an all-time panic mode.

Just 15 days before its release Housefull 5 faces another tragedy, this time with a copyright strike leading to its promotional teaser being taken down from YouTube.

Recently Mofusion Studios filed a copyright claim on the song “Laal Pari,” featured in the teaser of Housefull 5, leading to its removal from YouTube on May 9, 2025.

Honey Singh, who composed the track, provided a written declaration stating he solely owns the rights to “Laal Pari” and had exclusively licensed it to Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.

In retaliation for the takedown, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment has filed a Rs 25 crore defamation suit against Mofusion Studios and YouTube, citing the removal was unjustified and hampered their promotional campaign.

With no promotions, no trailer, and an uncertain release date, the hype for the blockbuster franchise has significantly dropped down.

In the wake of all this drama, Akshay Kumar is busy promoting Kesari 2’s Telugu release, blatantly ignoring the impending doom of Housefull 5.

With the film expected to touch the 300 crore mark, the build up to the release is quite underwhelming.

Fans who were excited after the teaser and song release have now seemingly moved on with nothing to carry their excitement further.

For Akshay, this isn’t his only film facing a backlash; Hera Pheri 3 is also in limbo, as Paresh Rawal has announced his departure from the franchise, presumably due to the unprofessionalism of the production house, AA Nadiadwala Entertainment.

Although both production houses operate independently and produce separate films, the issues they face for their projects have a similar pattern.

As new developments unfold, the question remains: when will producers focus on genuinely entertaining the audience with quality films rather than new controversies?
