Bollywood has seen some of the most bizarre and toxic love stories on and off screen. While the onscreen drama is resolved at the end of the film, it apparently isn’t as easy to resolve in reality.
One of the most discussed and trolled Bollywood relationships that comes to people’s minds while discussing this issue has to be that of Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut.
Their affair became a public issue, with both sides revealing completely different stories as to what unfolded during their brief time together.
The relationship between both actors reportedly began during the shooting of Krrish 3 back in 2013, although Kangana’s accounts reveal that they began dating on the sets of their film Kites in 2010.
The nature of their relationship became the topic of discussions. Kangana appeared in multiple TV shows only to accuse Hrithik of manipulating and betraying her.
The controversy intensified after Kangana referred to Hrithik as a ”silly ex,” which prompted a sharp public denial from Hrithik.
In a 2-hour video interview, Hrithik revealed that he had no connection to Kangana whatsoever and had only met her on the sets of their films together.
Both actors were involved in a legal battle where Hrithik accused Kangana of cyberstalking and defamation, while Kangana accused Hrithik of intimidation.
According to Kangana, Hrithik told her they don’t have any future as a couple, as he was a married man to his then wife, Suzanne Khan.
As their divorce unfolded during the shoot of Krrish 3, Kangana revealed that Hrithik was in a relationship with her.
After the divorce, when Hrithik didn’t contact Kangana, she grew obsessed with berating his image. She apparently sent 3000 emails to Hrithik in a matter of 4 months, through which she updated Hrithik about her life.
Hrithik paid no heed to these mails, but after Kangana’s sister Rangoli accused him of emotionally raping Kangana, Hrithik knew he didn’t want any association with her.
In his legal notice, Hrithik claimed Kangana suffered from Asperger’s syndrome, something Kangana had mentioned in one of her emails. Hrithik’s lawyers suggested that this had led her to “imagine things.”
Mental health organizations and the public criticized Hrithik for this characterization, pointing out that Asperger’s does not cause hallucinations.
Kangana’s lawyers, on the other hand, said that she never had such a diagnosis, and the mention reportedly was from a script discussion, not a real condition she had.
Following their very public fallout, none of the stars have publicly brought up each other, hinting that both do not want to touch the topic, as it damages their public image.
