Kartik Aaryan has begun shooting for his upcoming fantasy comedy Naagzilla, where he takes on a completely new avatar. The actor, fresh off Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, plays Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, an Ichhadhari Naag caught between folklore and modern chaos.
Titled Naagzilla: Naag Lok Ka Pehla Kaand, the film kicks off what is planned as a comedic trilogy. It explores how ancient serpent legends adapt to today’s world, blending fantasy, humour, and Indian mythology.
The film is produced by Dharma Productions and directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, best known for the Fukrey franchise. The makers promise a unique blend of mythology and modern storytelling.
Naagzilla is set for an Independence Day 2026 release, where it will face strong competition from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War, starring Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, and Ranbir Kapoor, and from Prabhas’s Fauzi, another major release expected to dominate the box office.
While Kartik Aaryan won the Diwali 2025 clash against Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the 2026 box office battle could be much tougher.
Whether audiences embrace Naagzilla’s quirky mix of folklore and comedy or not, one thing is clear — Kartik Aaryan is ready to reinvent himself yet again.
