Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies managed to impress the audience on OTT despite failing at the ticket counters. Meanwhile, the popular director has now revealed a few details about her upcoming project.
Kiran is currently planning to bring a supernatural thriller. She confirmed the same in a recent interview.
However, she did not reveal anything else, including the title, cast, or a tentative release date. She stated that she has prepared a few scripts and wants to go ahead with the supernatural thriller.
The upcoming film would be a joint venture of Aamir Khan Production and Kindling Pictures. Considering the success of similar concepts this year, Kiran has made a perfect choice.
Apart from Laapataa Ladies, Kiran has helmed Dhobi Ghat in the past due to which the next film would be a different experience for her as a director. But as has been common with many films, this one also has its share of complications.
Any director must explore different genres but unfortunately, Kiran has never been involved with such films in the past. Moreover, the entertainment value that led to the success of Maddock Supernatural Universe films must be included so that it can leave an impression on everyone.
On the other hand, Kiran has to be careful while casting the leads instead of immediately signing a popular face. Coming to the box office potential, if it is made on a low budget with a lot of entertaining elements, the film will undoubtedly emerge as a blockbuster.
Since the announcement has been already made, it remains to be seen if Kiran’s supernatural thriller can break records at the time of release.
