Kriti Sanon’s Raksha Bandhan Ad Gets Pulled Down

Kriti Sanon GIVA Raksha Bandhan ad

Kriti Sanon’s Raksha Bandhan advertisement has now been taken down by GIVA after the campaign faced backlash on social media.

The ad became controversial over Kriti’s outfit and its presentation of Raksha Bandhan. The issue picked up further after Kangana Ranaut criticised the campaign and questioned whether such styling was appropriate for a festival-themed advertisement.

Kriti Sanon later responded to the criticism. She defended her choice of outfit and said that culture and traditions are not defined by what a woman wears. Her response also made it clear that she was not willing to accept the criticism quietly.

However, the latest development has come from the brand.

GIVA has withdrawn the advertisement and said that it respects Indian culture, traditions and festivals. The brand also clarified that hurting anyone’s sentiments was never the intention behind the campaign.

The decision has now given the controversy a completely different turn. What began with social media reactions and Kangana’s comments has ended with the brand itself removing the campaign.

For Kriti, the issue is unlikely to end with the ad being taken down, especially after she publicly defended her position.

The ad is gone, but the debate around it is still very much alive.
