Kriti Sanon is ready to enter uncharted territory with her next big screen outing. The actor is set to headline a horror film backed by Maddock Films. This also marks her debut in the pure horror genre. According to reports, the untitled project is currently in pre-production.
Interestingly, Kriti has previously admitted that she is not particularly fond of watching horror films. However, the actor is reportedly keen to challenge herself as a performer. The upcoming project offers her an opportunity to explore a completely different side of her acting abilities.
The film will reportedly revolve around a strong female protagonist, with Kriti taking centre stage in a dark, horror narrative. Meanwhile, the makers have kept the storyline, director and other casting details under wraps. The scale of the project suggests Maddock is looking to expand its presence beyond its established horror or comedy formula.
Kriti had earlier collaborated with Maddock Films for nine projects, beginning with Raabta in 2017. Their collaborations include Luka Chuppi, Mimi, Bhediya and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. She most recently continued her big screen run with Cocktail 2 in 2026. However, the movie didn’t do well at the box office.
Maddock has built a strong reputation in the supernatural space with films such as Stree, Munjya and Bhediya. With this upcoming venture, the production house appears ready to explore a darker, more straight-up horror territory, while giving Kriti a fresh challenge as a leading actor.
