Kriti Sanon Out of Janhvi, Pooja Hegde, Taapsee Club

Kriti Sanon celebrates Tere Ishq Mein success

Kriti Sanon has finally broken her long run of box office jinxes with Tere Ishq Mein. The film stars Dhanush and is directed by Anand L. Rai. It has brought fresh momentum to her career.

A viral social media post pointed out that Kriti had delivered twelve back to back non hits or flops before this success. The post placed her in the same league as Janhvi Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, Pooja Hegde, Bhumi Pednekar and Sara Ali Khan.

However, Kriti Sanon has now managed to outperform her competitors. Her work in the film has also received praise from several critics. She appears to have created a space of her own with this strong performance.

The list shared online included films like Bhediya, Shehzada, Adipurush, Ganapath, Mimmi and Crew. The user labelled them as flops or average based on box office reports.

Fans and trade analysts fact checked the list and found it harsh. Some of these films did decent business in theatres and on OTT. Mimi was loved by audiences and performed well on Netflix. Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya earned a Hit verdict with over Rs 80 crore worldwide.

Crew also turned into a profitable semi hit that crossed Rs 150 crore globally. This brings the real flop streak closer to four or five films rather than twelve.

Still, it is true that Kriti has not enjoyed a clear theatrical blockbuster in almost six years. Her last major hit was Luka Chuppi in 2019 with Kartik Aaryan.

Tere Ishq Mein has now changed that narrative. The film has crossed over Rs 100 crore worldwide within a week. It continues to hold strong at the box office.

In India, the film has earned over Rs 76 crore net. It marks Kriti’s biggest solo opener and her first century in a lead role.

After a line of experimental choices and some unfortunate flops, this clean hit has brought visible relief. Fans hope she continues this success with her upcoming projects.
