Ever since Lyca Productions dropped the official announcement on Indian 3, suggesting that the pending work for the film has resumed and the film will hit the screens soon, social media has been flooded with lots of discussions and theories about Indian 3.
One among them is that some Kollywood insiders on social media have claimed that when the Indian sequel was split into two parts, the majority of the best sequences and the core concept that Shankar really wanted to convey through the sequel went to Indian 3.
Hence, they suggest that Lyca Productions is very confident about Indian 3, which is why, once they cleared their financial troubles, they restarted the project without any hesitation. The production house believes that Indian 3 will re-establish its winning streak.
However, all the major players who are part of Indian 3 are in need of a comeback, as Shankar‘s last two films Indian 2 and Game Changer, were failures; Kamal Haasan’s last two films, Indian 2 and Thug Life, were failures and most of Lyca Productions’ films have been failures, including their recently released Sigma.
Therefore, the success of Indian 3 is crucial for all three and if Indian 3 also ends up as a failure, their situation will get much worse. Meanwhile, sources suggest that Shankar has now started the editing work for Indian 3 and soon, he is going to start shooting the pending portions of the film.
Ultimately, it remains to be seen how Indian 3 takes shape and whether it emerges as a surprise blockbuster, helping Shankar, Kamal Haasan and Lyca Productions to make a comeback upon its release.
