Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Pathak have officially announced the release date of their next family thriller.

Interestingly, the date is October 2, 2026, which also marks another important occasion – Gandhi Jayanti.

Although the title of the film hasn’t been revealed yet, people are speculating that it might be Drishyam 3.

Given the success of Drishyam and Drishyam 2, there’s tremendous anticipation surrounding the next chapter.

However, the curious case is that Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph, the brainchild behind the original Drishyam, which is in Malayalam, have not started the third installment yet.

Since the Bollywood versions were remakes of Mohanlal’s films, how is it that Ajay and Abhishek are proceeding with a part 3?

There might be a chance that the duo is proceeding with an original script for Drishyam 3 or got early access to the Malayalam script.

Either way, the 2026 release is set to be a high-stakes affair because it is apparently releasing on the same date of Shah Rukh Khan’s film King.

It means Bollywood is going to witness another clash between two superstars. King is also a high-budget and highly anticipated film. So, releasing Drishyam 3 on the same date may not mean well for the makers.

Now, whether it’s Drishyam 3 or another parallel film in the making is what Ajay or Abhshek need to reveal to us soon.
