Tiger Shroff No Smoking

So imagine this: Tiger Shroff, the fitness icon and action hero, is in an anti-smoking ad where he gives a smoker a swift kick in the face to highlight the dangers of smoking.

And in another ad he is with Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn promoting Vimal Elaichi, a brand associated with pan masala products. Isn’t this sending mixed signals?

In April 2024, Tiger Shroff replaced Akshay Kumar in the Vimal Elaichi ad along with Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn. This was after Akshay Kumar faced a lot of flak for being associated with the brand and he had to step down and apologize to his fans.

Despite the controversy, the new ad with Tiger Shroff went viral and got both attention and criticism.

Adding to the irony, Tiger’s father Jackie Shroff is a vocal anti-smoker. In 2020, he asked the public to quit tobacco and highlighted its dangers. This father-son contrast shows the conflicting messages celebrities send about health and endorsements.

Bollywood has anti-smoking campaigns but many stars endorse products that are risky to health. This selective morality raises questions about the industry’s commitment to public health versus financial gains.

It’s time for public figures to align their endorsements with what they preach, so that there is consistency and integrity in their public persona.
