Param Sundari is now running in theatres and has shown a mixed trend at the box office. In its first three days, the film collected Rs. 27 crores. The main question is whether it can maintain this performance in the coming days.
Reports on social media suggest that the film earned Rs. 3.5 crores on Monday. Though not officially confirmed, this marks a 50% drop compared to the opening day collection of around Rs. 7 crores.
Even with average figures, a positive narrative is being circulated online, suggesting that the film is performing strongly. Many posts highlight the numbers to create the impression that it is generating huge profits.
This approach has not been well received by many viewers. While the box office collections are decent, reviews from critics and audiences remain mixed. Some have also alleged that Param Sundari has copied certain portions from Chennai Express.
The trailer and songs did not create much buzz before release, which resulted in fewer crowds at theatres. This has further affected the overall performance of the movie.
In such a situation, Maddock Films is reportedly trying to safeguard its image by showing the film as a success. However, this strategy may not work every time. The studio already faced setbacks after Chhaava. With Thama set for release in October, it remains to be seen if Maddock Films can regain its strong position.
