Ram Gopal Varma has started planning a new film. Latest reports have stated that the director is willing to explore the world of Mumbai’s crime underbelly, and Harshvardhan Rane is supposed to be featured in the project.
The name of the film has been revealed as Police Company, which will be backed by T-Series. The plot will be based on the life of Daya Nayak, the former Mumbai encounter specialist, and will go back to his early days, where he ran away from a village in Mangalore, aiming to establish himself in the Mumbai Police.
RGV has been planning to make a film based on Daya Nayak for a long time. Pre-production has already started, and filming is supposed to commence in the third week of August 2026.
While RGV has started working on his next movie, questions are being raised about his upcoming horror-comedy, Police Station Mein Bhoot. Many people are asking RGV to reveal the release date of the film. However, RGV has preferred to remain silent on the matter for now. A few reports have claimed that the movie has failed to find buyers.
On the other hand, a lot of people have started showing their interest in the upcoming film featuring Harshvardhan. Most of them stated that RGV has selected a good subject, and considering his expertise in handling such themes, the movie might do well at the box office.
But a few others also believe that the movie might not work as expected. People reacted by saying that multiple movies have been made on the life of Daya Nayak, due to which the subject has become a little outdated now. Some others said with conviction that RGV has lost his touch a long time ago and cannot adapt himself anymore to the needs of today’s audience.
Nothing much can be said for now until a promotional asset from the film is revealed. Let’s wait and see if Police Company will leave a positive impression.
