Manoj Bajpayee and Ram Gopal Varma are reuniting after years for a new project titled Police Station Mein Bhoot. The film is a horror comedy and marks their collaboration after the cult classic Satya. The first schedule of shooting has already been completed.
The story revolves around a unique question: where would the police run if they themselves were scared? Manoj Bajpayee confirmed the beginning of filming with an Instagram video where he was seen holding a creepy doll.
The film also stars Genelia D’Souza in a key role. Ram Gopal Varma shared that working with Manoj again feels “nostalgic and exciting,” as both had created magic in the past.
RGV explained that the idea of the film is rooted in fear challenging authority. Since the police station is considered a symbol of power, the presence of fear there becomes even more striking.
While Manoj Bajpayee continues to win audiences with strong performances, RGV’s recent films have struggled. His last widely appreciated work was Rakhta Charitra, released nearly 15 years ago. Since then, his films have failed at the box office.
Despite this, many believe Manoj Bajpayee’s presence could give Police Station Mein Bhoot an edge, even if the screenplay turns out average. However, some also doubt whether he can attract large crowds with a solo-led film.
The film’s success may depend on its budget, promotions, and word of mouth. Viewers are waiting to see whether this Manoj Bajpayee and RGV collaboration can revive the director’s lost charm.
