Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is once again in the headlines. The trailer of the film has already started a lot of discussions, and even international audiences are waiting to witness it on the big screen.
As per the latest update, Ramayana is also getting released in China with the title, The Legend of Prince. Sony Pictures has taken responsibility for releasing the film in the country. The release date has been locked as November 6, 2026, in China, two days before its arrival in India.
While the trade circle believes that it is a good strategy, the audience has a completely different opinion. Most of them questioned the excessive focus of the makers on releasing the film in international markets.
Notably, it is not the first time that the audience has pointed out this matter. This has been happening since the promotions of the film started. Audiences are still asking on social media why the makers are not interested in promoting the film among Indians when the story itself is from India.
Another thing that has led to a lot of criticism is the advance release in China two days before India. A few even asked the makers to release it on the same day in India along with China since they believe that it will help bring in good collections at the box office.
On the other hand, Ranbir Kapoor’s fans defended the decision of the makers, saying that since China has more theatres compared to India, the advance release will help to bring some good overseas collections. However, a few fans reacted by saying that what should matter most right now is the domestic figures.
Although the reception to the latest update has been mixed, the movie has once again started creating buzz. Made on a budget of Rs. 4,000 crores, the film will need some good collections to emerge as a memorable project made in Indian cinema. Let’s wait and see if that will happen as expected.
